AAHMS welcomes re-elected Albanese Government and key health portfolio appointments
The Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences congratulates Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his government on their re-election and the formation of the new ministry.
We extend our warm congratulations to the Hon Mark Butler MP on his reappointment as Minister for Health and Aged Care. Minister Butler’s continued leadership provides valuable continuity as we collaborate on the development of the National Strategy for Health and Medical Research, a once-in-a-generation opportunity to embed research and innovation at the heart of Australia’s health system.
We also congratulate the Hon Emma McBride MP on her reappointment as Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and Assistant Minister for Rural and Regional Health. Her steadfast commitment to mental health and regional health equity remains vital to advancing national wellbeing.
AAHMS warmly welcomes the Hon Rebecca White MP to the federal ministry in her new roles as Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care, Assistant Minister for Indigenous Health, and Assistant Minister for Women. Her extensive experience in state leadership and dedication to public service will be invaluable as we work together to improve health outcomes for all Australians.
These appointments reflect the Government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening Australia’s health and medical research ecosystem. AAHMS looks forward to continuing to work with Minister Butler, Assistant Minister McBride, Assistant Minister White, and the broader Government to advance our shared priorities, including:
