Professor Burrow’s research program has developed new effective, accessible interventions and improved dietary assessment methods using eHealth technologies that have informed clinical guidelines, improved efficacy of child obesity interventions and improved diet quality. Prof Burrows research outputs (240 career publications) are recognised globally, with impact evidenced by: 12,880 cites, 2 invited editorials, 7 reports, 8 invited reviews; 6 ‘highly cited’ publications (top 1%) 36 top 5% for Clinical Sciences; cites in 40 policy documents from 12 organisations in 9 countries (e.g. WHO, National Institute for Health and Care Excellence [NICE],UK); >25 research awards and prizes (e.g. 2014 WHO Team Excellence in Obesity Prevention Award). Professor Burrows research informed the development of guidelines for dietary assessment, with two of her papers cited. She was invited to co-author development of international toolkits to improve dietary data collection and reporting. Her research in biomarker validation is cited in international best practice guidelines for conducting nutrition studies. Collectively these guidelines have been accessed by over 15,000 people to improve dietary assessment in clinical practice and research.
