Peter Gibbs has led multiple large, randomised trials of circulating tumour DNA informed management of resected colorectal and pancreatic cancer, impacting routine cancer management worldwide. He has led the establishment of national/international clinical cancer registries across many cancer types, with data +/- matching tissue, supporting numerous research projects, including registry randomised trials. He has been a leader in intervention trials in colorectal cancer, including being lead investigator for practice changing trials of selective internal radiation therapy. He is the cancer lead investigator of ASPREE, a study of aspirin versus placebo in the elderly, which has changed clinical practice and treatment guidelines.
