Professor Alta Schutte is an internationally recognised expert in raised blood pressure and hypertension, whose highly cited and awarded research is consistently published in leading general and discipline-specific journals. She has shown exceptional leadership in improving blood pressure control through novel solutions to raise awareness, detection and treatment in Australia and globally. Moreover, she has contributed extensively to the discipline, including via influential board and committee memberships, and has supervised, trained and mentored >100 young researchers. Professor Schutte would undoubtedly make valuable contributions to the work of the Academy.
