Adelaide Roadshow

Adelaide Roadshow

SAHMRI Auditorium, North Terrace, Adelaide

Please join us for a presentation by the inaugural president of the Academy, Professor Ian Frazer about the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences.
The Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences is a newly established learned Academy
that aims to be an important part of the health and medical scientific and policy landscape of Australia.
In March 2015, 12 South Australians were inducted into the Academy.
Its mission is: ‘to promote health and medical research and its translation to enable a healthier community in Australia and the world’.
The Academy serves three broad purposes outlined as of high priority in the recent McKeon report on Health and Medical Research:

  • Mentoring the next generation of clinician researchers.
  • Providing independent advice to government and others on issues relating to evidence based medical practice and medical research.
  • Providing a forum for discussion on progress on medical research with an emphasis on translation of research into practice.

Please contact Katrina Hanna ([email protected]) for more details.
